Hyperloop, an ultrafast travelling technology through a pod to reach destinations within few minutes, has modernized the outlook for an advanced concept - unique from the existing means of transportations as trains, cars and airplanes. With its first advent by Elon Musk, countries have been competing among, to become the first one on revolutionizing their transport facility.
At a latest news, a California based futuristic transport company - Virgin Hyperloop, has perfromed their first successful test with passengers at their test site in Las Vegas, Nevada. Evidencing the experience of such test being performed, the Chairman of Virgin Hyperloop and Chief Executive of DP World, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem has stated that,
I had the true pleasure of seeing history made before my very eyes.
Such levitating technology modifying the kinetic method of travelling has unveiled its potential sustainability and safety while contributing to the ultra-fast paced lives of people. The DevLoop test track was 500 meters long and 3.3 meters in diameter, located 30 minutes outside from Las Vegas, for conducting tests earlier, however with its first passenger trial, excitements mounted up as the CEO of Virgin Hyperloop, Jay Walder has remarked,
This is a full scale, working hyperloop that is not just going to run in a vacuum environment, but is going to have a person in it. No one has come close to doing it.
Noting further as a fifth mode of transport, Elon Musk had previously addressed on "constraining the problem" of huge traffic and requirements to reach destinations on time with the lowest cost possible.
China had inaugurated the first and the world's fastest commercial train called Maglev, which uses the magnetic levitation technology to travel with a speed of around 373 mph. However Hyperloop is an evolution of Maglev which uses a nearly vacuum pod as tubes to cause an effective levitation system enabling speeds of around 600 mph. Twice as fast as a commercial jet flight and four times faster than a high speed train, Hyperloop has its potential implementation all over the world as a market growth of 35.23% has been reported for the forecast period of 2020 - 2027.
Further, the company is working towards safety certification by 2025 and its commercial operations to initiate by 2030. In a statement, the Co-Founder and Cheif Technology Officer of Virgin Hyperloop, Josh Giegel has stated,
When we started in a garage over 6 years ago, the goal was simple - to transform the way people move. Today, we took one giant leap toward that ultimate dream, not only for me, but for all of us who are looking towards a moonshot right here on Earth.
